Europe is a unique continent, rich in history, cultures and languages. However, the rest of

the world knows Europe mostly through a few icons - the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning

Tower of Pisa, etc – which have become tourist clichés.

Students are invited to design and create a leaflet addressing non-Europeans portraying

the richness of our continent, based on what makes Europe so unique.

A German classroom decides to create a leaflet showing the daily lives of pupils in five

different countries. They identify five countries and interview (or imagine interviewing)

five kids with specific and different cultural, geographic and religious backgrounds. How

do they start their morning, what do they eat? What kind of landscape or cityscape do

they go through on their way to school? How do they spend their evenings at weekends?

The interviews are accompanied by pictures to highlight the differences. They then

compose the leaflet in a Word or similar document and upload it to the Spring Day

website.
